Antony Eyob John

It was Florence Nightingale suggested that "assistance is an art": a perhaps trivial phrase, but with the meaning that is deep and intense. According to our co-author Antony Eyob John, taking care of people, their weaknesses and their frailties is notonly a paid job, but a task that requires selfless and visceral devotion and a great respect for life.

Choosing to go to work between wards and hospital rooms has been and still is an endless adventure for Antony. Wearing uniform, sterile shoes, identification tags, caps and sterile gloves; studying social sciences, history, the evolution of medicine.

The nursing job is based on studying empathy, the strength of active listening and behavioral patterns; medical stuff prepare themselves to deal delicately with any eventual situation not only with respect to pathological realities, but also with any other form of discomfort and difficulty.

Being a nurse means being there for everyone in the moment of their need, whenever health is concerned. Antony believes that healthcare should be free and accessible for everyone – this is why he joined us in spreading the awareness and helping Roychowdhury in his research work and publishing educational materials for patients on the Web.

Antony’s hobbies are computer games, sports activities, vegan lifestyle, going out in the company of his friends, many of whom are his co-workers at the hospital, and much more. He lives alone but aspires to create a family and have no less than two children one day.
